Victoria Cornford and Elana Greaves
The Disabled Students’ Officers are responsible for representing disabled students; they promote awareness of accessibility and welfare issues for disabled students on campus and campaign to make University an accessible and inclusive environment. They also lead the Disabled Students’ Network (DSN), which is a peer support and social network for disabled students.
Victoria and Elana's Priorities
Socials - Emphasising DSN as not only a campaigning network but also a space to meet others and socialise. We will run frequent socials for all disabled students to take part in and enjoy.
Experience - We are active members of the DSN in the last committee and have engaged by running tea & cake sessions for students to discuss campaigns and socialise with peers.
Inclusivity - We will make DSN more accessible to freshers and existing students by continually advertising and promoting the network through the year, and reaching out especially in fresher’s week with drop ins, information packs, events and posters.
