RAG

YUSU RAG brings you fun, cross-campus, events and adventurous activities - in aid of good causes. Take a little time away from your studies: explore the secrets of student life in York on our Freshers’ Week Scavenger Hunt, or sign up for our Charity Challenge Trek. Just taking part helps York students do their bit for the wider world. But that’s not all you can do….

Core Charities

We support a number of charities each year, and you get to choose our core charities! We have put charities through a rigorous application process and shortlisted six, and over Week 3, we had YOU vote on them! Our core charities for the year are:

Action Against Hunger's teams work in nearly 50 countries worldwide to carry out innovative, lifesaving programmes in nutrition, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene.

At World Child Cancer, we work to ensure that every child, regardless of where they live, receives the best treatment to ensure a brighter future for them.  Our aim as a charity is to transform inequality in cancer treatment for children in the developing world. In low-income countries, survival rates for children with cancer are as low as 10 percent, compared to over 80 percent in high-income countries.

Snappy is a York based charity working with young people and families who have disabilities. 265 families depend on snappy projects and they need help to keep going. Snappy volunteers have done many fundraisers but they still need help.

Get involved with College RAG

We raise money for local charities through our collegiate system – each college teams up with charity that is chosen on a 3 year basis, ensuring collaboration and consistency.

We raise money for National and International charities through cross-campus activities. We shortlist a set of charities that we hope to work with each year, then for each event/activity, the RAG Committee will choose a charity from the shortlist.
