We run campaigns, live music events, and occasionally film screenings as well as work with other human related groups, societies and organisations to raise awareness of human rights abuses and raise funds for prisoners of conscience and other international amnesty campaigns.
Amnesty International (commonly known as Amnesty and AI) is a non-governmental organisation focused on human rights with over 3 million members and supporters around the world. The stated objective of the organisation is "to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights, and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated." As a student branch of AI we carry out the objectives of the international organisation on a local level. We work with other human rights related groups, societies and organisations to do this.
