Music Society

Music Society is one of the largest societies at the University, with around 400 members.

Our aim is to get people involved with music making on and off campus. We put on a number of events for our members, including lunchtime concerts and live music nights, both of which are opportunities for our members to perform or enjoy music.

Other events we organise include concerts trips, music talks, society balls, and socials. We also have fantastic Practice Rooms, located in Derwent College, only for our members. We also provide affordable instrumental lessons and instruments on which to learn.

We want as many people as possible to make the most of what we have to offer. If you love music, get involved and make music happen!

Events happen all year round. To find out more about when and how you can get involved, follow us on Facebook and Twitter

If you have bought membership online, bring along your confirmation email to the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall foyer located in the Music Department on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1-2pm to collect your Membership Card. This is what gets you lots of great benefits on Campus and across York.

Then why not stick around afterwards for our concert?
