University of York Students' Union (YUSU)

Crafts Society

A craft is defined as an activity involving skill in making things by hand.

Each week we take advantage of the diversity this definition offers by making a range of fun, attractive and useful items using many different techniques. From papercraft to stencilling, metal work to felting, cosmetics to decorations, there is something new to try every session.

We aim to run sessions that allow you to learn skills through teaching while also giving you the freedom to explore your own ideas. The opportunity to access equipment and tools at sessions, that otherwise may not be available to you, is too good to miss!

Our sessions are laid back, creating an atmosphere of mutual making where it’s easy to bounce ideas off each other and make friends in the process. Materials are provided, just bring your creativity.

Don’t forget to have a look at our facebook page for more details. We look forward to seeing you there!
