For a regular idea of life at the club 'like' our page on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

The 2018/19 season is looking to be one of the club's most exciting in our 50 year history. We are one of the largest, most successful and established clubs at the University, regularly besting our Lancastrian rivals in Europe's largest inter-university competition 'Roses'. We have a proven track record of being able to produce GB standard rowers from complete beginners during their time at the club. Our alumni have gone on to win Henley Royal Regatta and represent Great Britain at the Olympics.

We are also proud of our full-time performance coach who oversees our three person strong coaching team, whose dedication and expertise have propelled us up the rowing hierarchy in recent years. We're expecting even bigger and better things this year. We are also a now well established British Rowing Start Centre, meaning we are training up the next batch of British Olympians. A number of club members have gone on to join the start programme and a recent alum, Stewart Hosie, was recently selected to represent the country. That could be you!

The club is not just about performance though and has the largest active member base of any club at the university for a reason. Each member of the club is just as important as the other, our collectively supportive ethos is the basis of the club. Most of our members compete at novice or intermediate levels at local, regional and national races allowing everyone the chance for success. The club comes together to host our annual race, the White Rose Head each year with over 100 crews taking part and in November we will hosting the Yorkshire BUCS Indoors championships.

We're a very social club, holding weekly and often bi-weekly socials, and the Boat Club socials are famous for their excellence. Whether we're dressing up in Togas, as our favourite animal, or decked out in Neon, you can't miss us in Salvo on Wednesday nights.

We have the fortune of being able to row on over 24km of the River Ouse and through the beautiful city of York. Our Boat House is located just 10 minutes from campus and whether you want to try the sport for the first time, or have eyes on competing internationally, we have the facilities for you.
