The York University Mountaineering Club is proud to welcome Tim Emmett. Tim is a world class athlete across a broad range of disciplines, from impressive first ascents in alpine climbing, sport climbing, bouldering and deep water soloing to B.A.S.E jumping and Wing suiting. Tim will be giving a talk about his experiences with a Q&A session afterwards.
Tim has won the Redbull Whitecliffs climbing competition on the Isle of White, and in February 2016 he climbed Interstellar Spice, the first Ice Climb in the world graded WI 12 at Helmcken Falls, Canada. In August 2016 he climbed the traditionally protected climb The Path 5.14R (8b+), in Lake Louise, Canada. More recently in 2017 he repeated Superman 5.14c (8c+) in Squamish, BC, Canada. In 2010 Tim made the first ascent of Muy Caliente the first E10 in Wales. On his first Himalayan trip in 2006 with Ian Parnell, Tim climbed a new route on the East Face on Kedar Dome (6840M) free, in Super Alpine style, and nominated for the Piolet D’Or.
