Women's Officer

The Women’s Officer is responsible for the representation of women and the promotion of women’s liberation within the Union and the University.

The individual(s) holding the position of Women’s Officer shall self-define as women.

Main Responsibilities

  • Convene and chair Women’s Network, through which issues affecting women students can be discussed and campaigns or events decided.
  • Coordinate campaigns run by Women’s Network relevant to these issues, in order to increase awareness and positively influence the actions of students and the University.
  • Encourage the combating of sexism at all levels.
  • Produce the annual Women’s Handbook.
  • Attend relevant NUS conferences and events;
  • Contribute to Liberation and Welfare Assembly Committee in the interests of women students.
