Your Elections
Why we have elections:
As a democratic organisation we have elections so that the students who hold positions within YUSU are chosen by their peers and that the way these positions are filled is fair and open. Elections are important opportunities to debate the priorities we have as a Union, putting you the members in the driving seat.
Why you should stand in an election:
There are lots of reasons to stand for election. Whether you care about an issue and think you could make a positive difference - on anything from equal rights to climate change - or whether you want to meet new people and work with others in a team. Elections are not as daunting as they seem and can provide a great chance for you to develop skills and confidence.
