Black and Gold – Summer Summer Summer Time It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog, I suppose we were busy winning Roses and all that, so I thought I’d try to bring you all up to date with where we are at! Summer Term is a great time for York Sport, and a chance to reflect on what has been a successful year for us. Hope you can join us at some of our events!

Hi. I’m Sam Asfahani and I’m your Sports President, which effectively puts me in charge of the running of sport at the University, although I’m massively helped out by the York Sport committee, the College Sport committee and all the individual clubs!
My job encompasses anything to do with sport at York, be it communicating with the 60 clubs, chairing weekly York Sport committee meetings, visiting different parts of Yorkshire as BUCS Yorkshire Student Chair, attending University Sports Strategy meetings, and many more. On top of my role-specific duties, I’m heavily involved with the running of the Union and am always happy to help in whatever way I can, even if it’s not related to sport.
I will be playing as much sport as I can and visiting as many clubs as possible in the sporting environment — if you ever need me you'll be sure to find me on 22 acres playing for the university's american football team as well as repping or supporting my beloved Langwith in college sport!
