The University of York Students' Union (YUSU) is a charity that helps over 16,000 students get the most out of their time at University. Located on the Heslington West campus, the Union provides students with the opportunity to meet people; make new friends and get involved.
YUSU is looking to recruit an Academic and Welfare Development Coordinator to work within the Union and its sister organisation the Graduate Student Association (GSA). The role will provide information, advice and advocacy, both individually and in groups, to York students to ensure that YUSU and the GSA are enhancing the quality of the student experience at York. The successful candidate will work closely with staff members and elected officers across both organisations as well as the University to ensure the delivery of a high quality support service that will help improve our members’ lives.

YUSU Doorsafe Security Personnel
YUSU, the colleges, and the University run a wide variety of events and functions throughout the academic year. Many of these require licensed security staff to ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of all involved.
YUSU is now looking for suitable people to join the event security team.
As a member of YUSU you will be part of a 20+ team responsible for maintaining safety; upholding licensing regulations, as laid out in the Security Industry Association (SIA) code of practice; and ensuring the smooth running of many different events.
To join us you will need to be; proactive, assertive, and confident; able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team; and work well in a pressured and stressful environment.
Full training will be provided that will lead to official SIA accreditation. All costs will be covered by YUSU for the training and SIA badge.
