Wentworth College

En Dieu est tou

Welcome to "Wenty". The College is the University of York's Graduate College, a hub for all the graduate activity in the University. As well as housing 460 residents, the College's top-notch study and social facilities are available to all of York's graduate students.

We have a simple aim at Wenty: each member of the College should have as full, rich, productive and enjoyable a graduate experience as possible whilst at York. We are an international college with more than 75% of our students coming from overseas. We house the Graduate Students' Association, the Active Arts Programme, The Dixon Drama Studio, the academic departments of Sociology and Criminal Justice, and "the best food on campus" (according to the campus catering survey 2007) with our award winning catering team. We have a private dining room, a common room, and a 350 capacity venue that has hosted New Year's Eve parties, comedy nights, jazz concerts and gigs from emerging talent like The Sugars. Why not use Wenty for your next departmental event? Dr Carl Thompson - Provost

newsThe "Wentworth Horn" is Born

Wenty Horn

Legend has long spoken of the mythical "Wentworth Horn"; to be used on ceremonial occasions to summon students and enthusiasm in days of yore. Well, the Wentworth Horn is reborn and Patrick Vitalone has been appointed official "keeper of the horn" for the College for 08-09. I am sure you join me in wishing Patrick well and urging him to use the power of the horn wisely.
