We've got a new website. It contains lots of useful information about the LGBT Groups at York and loads of other useful things like sexual health and welfare information. It's also got a forum where you can chat anonymously about anything!

YUSU LGBT exists to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans students at the university of York. We're part of the students' union, and represent LGBT students on the union's committees. We run campaings on LGBT issues and aim to fight fight homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and hetrosexism to help create a safe and inclusive environment in the university. We also look out for the welfare of LGBT students at York - holding Tea and Coffee sessions, providing information and support, and running welfare campaigns. We also have a huge quantity of condoms and lube to give out as well as safe sex info.

There are two other LGBT groups at York. LGBT Social organises social events such as bar crawls, cheese and wine nights and trips to Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester. Query focus more on the cultural and political aspects of LGBT, holding regular discussions on themes of sexuality and gender. Membership of these groups is by no means mutually exclusive, and both are represented on the YUSU LGBT Committee to make sure that we're all coordinated and working well together.
