Getting Involved - Elections
Want to get involved with LGBT? All you need to do is stand in the elections for the position you want to apply for. Elections for positions are held once a year, usually in autumn term.
LGBT Officers Election
The elections for the LGBT Officer is held at the end of Spring term, as part of the Union Executive Committee elections. It is a cross-campus ballot (so everyone in the university can vote) but to stand you must be a pair, define as LGBT and not identify as the same gender as each other.
JCRC LGBT Reps Elections
To become your college JCRC rep, the elections take place in your college JCRC elections every Autumn term, of which you will be notified by your college about. All colleges have LGBT reps, with the exception of Wentworth, the graduate college. If you're college's LGBT Rep position is unfilled, why not fill it? Email lgbt@yusu.org or your college chair to find out about standing in a by-election.
Society Reps
The reps of the two societies are decided by their committees, so you would need to be involved with the society already, by first standing in the society elections.
