Hardship Loans
YUSU provides hardship loans to students who are having financial difficulties. We can lend you up to a hundred pounds for a period usually around six weeks. All you need to do to get a loan is bring a chequebook, cheque guarantee card and proof of financial hardship (i.e. a bank statement or print off of your balance from a cash machine) to the Student Centre and fill in a form.
To be eligible for a Hardship loan, you must:
- Provide estimated incoming and justification for how the loan will be repaid within 6 weeks
- A bank balance statement
- Be a current (or returnning) student registered on the University's database as such.
- Have a good loan repayment record with us.
- Bring with you your chequebook AND chequebook guarantee card.
YUSU will maintain your confidentiality and access to a hardship loan as far as possible. Full details and terms are listed on the hardship loan request form.
So, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us confidentially.
