Bullying and Harassment
Bullying and harassment occurs at university, just as it does at school and in the workplace. A survey of 106 York students in November 2006 found that 57% of those surveyed had experienced some form of bullying whilst at university and 85% had witnessed bullying.
There are many places you can go to for help if you are being bullied or harassed, these include
Your provost or college welfare team
Your supervisor
YUSU Academic and Welfare Service
Nightline
College Welfare Reps
The University takes bullying and harassment very seriously - if you feel you are being bullied or harassed read their guidelines on the Equal Opportunities Office website.
