MON am - Welcome Talks

The Welcome Talks are the definitive introduction to York and are compulsory for all students to attend. With introductions from the University staff and the whole Students’ Union including information on sports, societies, welfare, events and more it’ll prepare you for your University life. And it's not going to be dry lectures - we can assure you there's going to be quite a bit of spectacle this year...

  • 10:45 Students from HYMS, Alcuin and Goodricke colleges
  • 12:45 Students from Halifax and Vanbrugh Colleges
  • 14:45 Students from Health Sciences, Derwent, James and Langwith Colleges

MON pm - Freshers' Ball

Monday night kicks off with 3,000 people off-campus at the fantastic York Racecourse. Check ot the Freshers Ball mini-site here.

WED pm - Unreel

Relax at our big, free event in Central Hall - and enjoy two blockbuster movies at York Student Cinema.

SAT am - YUSU Fair

With hundreds of stalls from campus societies and sports clubs, you're certain to find something that'll catch your interest.

SAT pm - Access All Areas

Saturday night sees a massive, cross-campus event involving six events across every college bar. It's massive, it's for every student at York, and it's going to be fantastic. Tickets and lineup released on September 15th.

SUN pm - Big Comedy Night

YUSU presents a great end to your Welcome Week - a massive comedy event at Central Hall. There's always great comedians on offer- so it's a laugh a minute guaranteed. Full line-up and tickets released on September 15th.

MON to SUN am/pm - College Events

Whether you're in Alcuin, Derwent, Goodricke, Halifax, James, Langwith (details coming), Vanbrugh (postgrads), or if you're a postgraduate student, your college will be putting on plenty of things to keep you entertained. (And if you fancy going over to some other college's event one night, no-one's going to stop you...!)
