Give a helping hand
Helping students to engage in volunteering whilst studying at York. Have a look at our projects, and if anything interests you get involved!
To start getting involved you’ll need to register with us online and get a CRB check. For some projects you will also need to complete additional forms.
If you have any difficulties please email sdf@yusu.org, or call in to YUSU Studio to speak to Maria.
To get involved you’ll first need to register with us online; it won’t take a minute and opens up a wealth of opportunities for you to get involved with.
You will also need a CRB check. Even if you have an existing check, you will need to get one through YUSU to be covered. Pop along to see Maria at YUSU Studio to pick up the necessary paperwork.
To be able to conduct a CRB check on the spot you will need 3 pieces of documentation (see the guidance notes for more information). You will also need to have proof of your address, and a list of any addresses you have lived at in the last 5 years.
v, the national young volunteers service is an independent charity dedicated to helping young people volunteer in ways that matter to them. If you’re aged 16–25 and you spend your time giving "a big hand" to other people, your community or the environment, you could get official recognition for the amazing voluntary work you do.
Please send completed forms to sdf@yusu.org.
