The Langwith Cafe Bar Project
The Langwith Cafe Bar Project is currently work in progress. An opportunity arose for the Students' Union early 2008 after the announced closure of Langwith Bar for Summer 2008.
A proposal was put forward to Union Exec and Senate receiving unanimous support in favour of a project to renovate and create a space for and run by students.
YUSU are currently awaiting approval of the capital project and updates will be made as available.
Heron Design have created a concept design for the project and the initial design is available below:
External
We want to make good use of the outside space, providing seating and nice scenery, as well as some protection from the elements to provide an attraction and usable space all year round.

Internal
We wanted to have a space that was modern, cultered and welcoming day and night to staff, students and visitors. We have made use of wood throughout to soften the feel, be durable and promoting sustainable material sources. Sofa seating allows for group work by day and socialising by night.

Feedback
We are keen to hear what you think about the design ideas. If you currently use the space or would like to, your feedback is very important to us. Please send it to: services@yusu.org.
The Students' Union operates under a banner of 'Your:Union, Your:Profit'. This means that any profit from our commercial outlets comes back to student activities.
