Windsurfing Beginners Days
What?
YUSWC Windsurfing beginners days are specifically aimed at those who have done none or very little windsurfing before... and want to learn. Then we teach you. Which is cool. In the Summer term sailing beginner days run alongside the windsurfing - so if you fancy trying both, you can. And why not.
Who?
Windsurfers of literally *ALL* abilities are welcome. Those who are more advanced can go out and get powered up whilst (what we loosely call) tuition takes place.

YOU ***MUST*** BE A MEMBER OF THE AU TO COME. This is for insurance and safety reasons and is very very important. Proof of AU membership is required - luckily you can get a handy little card with your face on it for this very purpose (ask at the AU office in Goodricke). Get AU membership (£15 for the academic year; can't do *ANY* university sport without it) here.
You dont even have to be able to swim! (but obviously it's a good idea if you tell us this first)
What is included?
- Windsurf kit (sails boards fins masts booms harness deckplates centreboards various ropes totalling ~£700)
- Wetsuits (usually ~£100)
- Buoyancy Aids
- TUITION (private lessons would be ~£50/2hour session, minimum)
- Transport to & from the lake from Uni
- Safety
- Lunch, sometimes (BBQs in Summer)
How much?
£4 to cover petrol or £6 in Summer (for BBQ). That's it. Amazing. Pretty much free.
Sweet, when's the next one?
Check out the YUSWC calendar here... or join up to the mailing list. We try to go at least once a week in Autumn, Spring and Summer, so there's plenty of opportunity... you just gotta grab it and go.....
