The Black Asian and Minority Ethnic Network (BAME) represents the views of students’ at York who self define as BAME, which is including but not limited to students with African, Asian, Arab and Latin American heritages. This involves weekly meetings, running campaigns and mobilising York students against fascism at a local and national level.
The Environment & Ethics Network exist to promote sustainable and fair practices at the University of York. We consult with the University management and influence policy. We raise awareness through student-led campaigns. We aim to make saving the planet enjoyable and accessible for all. We strive to influence student habits to live a greener, fairer lifestyle.
The International Students’ Association’s primary goal is to represent the interests of international students here at the University of York. Through promoting cultural exchange, addressing welfare issues and fostering a welcoming community. We currently represent ~ 4,000 students and host coffee afternoons every Wednesday, along with some of the biggest events of the year, including a Winter Ball and Global Week.
The LGBTQ network is how LGBTQ students are represented in YUSU. We try to make the uni a better place with weekly meetings to plan campaigns, events, and to feed back about LGBTQ life. On top of this, we run discussions, chills, and get involved with events like York Pride and to have a chance get to know each other and learn about a range of issues.
AS MSO's, we're here to help integrate Mature Students into the crazy, and sometimes scary world of university. We're here to answer questions or just as someone to talk to. We also organise socials where you can mingle and get to know each other.
YUSU RAG is the home of fundraising at York! As a student-led committee, RAG brings you fun, cross-campus, events and adventurous activities – all in aid of good causes! Whether it’s a game of Bubble Football, one of our challenge events such as climbing Kilimanjaro or taking on Jailbreak (30 hours to get as far away from York as possible), we really do have something for everyone.
Hi! We're Ellie and Hannah and we are the YUSU Volunteering Officers. We oversee all 16 student led volunteering projects and also host our own one-off volunteering events. There are so many different ways to get involved- whether you volunteer regularly or just want to have a go! Please don't hesitate to contact us!
Women's Network is a group designed to represent and advocate for all women and non-binary students on campus, through positive, solution-based discussion and action. At our weekly meetings we invite these students to talk about issues affecting them and how to tackle them. We operate as a supportive, open-minded, beginner-friendly community based on the values of equality and respect.
