Results of the Referendum
Should the University of York Students' Union remain affiliated to the National Union of Students?
With a total of 1389 students voting, the motion passed in FAVOUR of remaining affiliated to the National Union of Students.
Votes YES: 1005 (72%)
Votes NO: 357 (26%)
Votes abstaining: 27 (2%)
Thank you to both campaigns for their hard efforts to encourage people to vote. The quoracy level was 742 and we received almost double the amount of people voting.
A special thank you to Anne-Marie Canning, YUSU President, for co-ordinating the Referendum, encouraging speakers to come to the University and chairing the panel debates.
