Events
Aside from society meetings, the Quite Interesting Society holds some events that are open to all students and sometimes to members of the public as well. Current plans include a lecture series next Spring and possibly a comedy gig in the Autumn Term. Details will be published here when they are announced.
Society Meetings
Summer Term 2008
QI Challenge Week 2 - Thursday 1st May, 8:00pm meeting in Vanbrugh Bar
This week we'll be getting into two teams to compete in a few rounds of Strictly Come Duncing - QI's interactive game DVD. The questions are devilishly hard so this one will stretch your general ignorance radar to the limit. There'll be prizes for the winning team and someone from the winning team will go up against Alan Davies to win a signed copy of the Book of General Ignorance.
Note that this week we'll be taking down names for those interested in joining the trips to London to watch the recordings. We have 20 tickets including at least 4 for entry to the green room (with the chance to meet Stephen Fry, Alan Davies and the guests, plus the small matter of a free bar) and travel will be at discounted rates. We'll be offering tickets on a first-come-first-served basis so we highly recommend coming to the event.
QI Marathon Week 4 - Thursday 15th May, 8:00pm meeting in Vanbrugh Bar
Exactly what you would expect, we'll be watching our favourite episodes of QI back to back for an excellent evening of humour and entertainment. There will be the obligatory refreshments and breaks for trips to Vanbrugh Bar of course (note that we'll be finalising the details for the trips to London this week).
QI Quiz Week 7 - Thursday 5th June, 8:00pm meeting in Vanbrugh Bar
We're putting together a QI style quiz with lots of traps for you to prove your general ignorance. You'll be lucky if you don't finish the night on negative points as we separate the dunderheads from the smarties. Plus of course there will be some prizes for the winner.
Our Meetings
The activities of our society tend to dictate that not all of our meetings will take place on a regular basis. Autumn term meetings will generally be on Fridays in order to watch the show, however meetings in Spring and Summer will move around to take advantage of different events. If you're interested in joining the society or coming to a meeting, join our mailing list by sending an email to qisoc@yusu.org
