Technical Equipment

All technical equipment is booked through our equipment hire company. Ents Tech. For a standard event in Derwent, Langwith or Vanbrugh you will require at least:

An ‘A-rig’ 7.2k public address system
An ‘A-rig’ lighting system
3 blocks of 8’ x 4’ staging

This will set you back around £805. It is charged to your account at the end of the month.

For a standard event in Goodricke, you will require at least:

A ‘B-rig’ 3.4k public address system
A ‘B-rig’ lighting system
3 blocks of 8’ x 4’ staging

This will set you back around £545. It is charged to your account at the end of the month.

Ents Tech also offer equipment to run band events (though it will add £100 to your bill), can offer up to 15 block of staging (if you require such an area) and also offer Smoke, Strobe, Mirror Ball and other special effects for your events.

More details, or a booking form, are available from Jeanette Sparnenn in the Student Centre. Booking forms need to be handed back in to Jeanette two weeks before your event.

If you are having smoke at your event, the alarms will be deactivated and will be checked by the Bar Supervisor and Doorsafe at the beginning and end of your event. This will ensure that you don’t have a visit from the Fire Brigade during your event.
