Societies
There are many issues that can be taken up under the banner of environment and ethics, and it’s up to you to get involved. Lively debate, campaigning and action are all key elements. We hope that we can act as a point of contact and through which many of you can become active participants in the Union and the university.
There are several active environmental and/or ethical societies at the University. Here are brief descriptions and contact details - get in touch, go along, change the world!

Goodmag
Goodmag (short for 'Good People Against Bad Things') is a magazine written by students with different ideas and opinions. We don't agree with each other all the time, and we don't expect you to agree with everything we say. What is written is the views of the authors and not any group or society.

Oxfam
Oxfam is a vibrant global movement of dedicated people fighting poverty. People power drives everything we do. From saving lives and developing projects that put poor people in charge of their lives and livelihoods, to campaigning for change that lasts. That’s Oxfam in action.

Speak
SPEAK is a national network of groups campaigning and praying against injustice. Inspired by our faith in a creator God, York SPEAK meets together really informally, normally with lots of tea and cake! We focus on injustice in terms of human rights, poverty, environmental and ethical issues. Everyone is welcome; you don't need to be a Christian to come along.
