Environment & Ethics

Welcome to the Environment & Ethics pages on the YUSU website. Firstly, well done for finding your way here!

We’re your Environment & Ethics Officers and we coordinate all things green and ethical on campus and are here to help you voice any concerns in these areas. If you want the Student Union or University to do or change something in these areas we’re the ones to ask! Each college has an Eco Rep and together we coordinate recycling on campus and campaign for raised awareness of the issues facing our world. From Human Rights to Fairtrade, from energy saving to recycling, we’re your guys!

We hope these pages will help show you how to live in an environmentally and sustainable way whilst at York University. We cover recycling, energy efficiency, transport, Fairtrade and ethical merchandise. But equally as important, we show you how you can get involved with societies which campaign on these issues, and with the Students’ Union to make it as environmentally conscious and ethically aware as possible.

If you've picked up a copy of the 'Green Guide' you'll have noticed that we made lots of references to 'the website' and you've come to the right place. Here we elaborate on the basic information in the guide in lots more detail, giving you the most up to date information.

Below we've listed upcoming events - come along and get involved!
