The Voting Systems
YUSU operates two voting systems based on the University of York servers, linked to the York Username/Password.
The first is our UGM voting system. Students are authenticated against the University authentication server before they are allowed to vote. They are then able to cast their vote on motions presented to each Union General Meeting. This system was developed in-house and has been running for numerous years now.
The second is our online election voting system. Again, users are authenticated against the University systems, and then given permission to vote on different elections based on the data provided by the University (e.g. College for JCRC elections, Subject / Year number for Board of Studies elections).
YUSU has great faith in its' systems and they have both increased participation and accessibility in supporting democracy at the University of York over the past few years.
If you have any questions or concerns about either of these systems please do not hesitate to contact the Services and Finance Officer on services@yusu.org.
