Training

Welcome

When you think of everything YUSU does for you, training is probably the last thing that you would think of. However, the chances are that whether you are a shiny new fresher or a battle hardened 3rd year, someone who has received training from YUSU has made sure your time at York is as good as it can be!

Some examples of the groups that YUSU provides training for are:

  • College Ents Officers
  • Welfare Volunteers
  • Society Officers
  • Academic Department Reps

YUSU gives all these people (and many more) the skills and knowledge they need to provide you with a great service and an even greater university experience.

Follow the links to the left to find out more about the training events YUSU runs, how to sign up for training and much more.

Training Officer  -  Rhianna Kinchin & Collette Kerrigan

E-mail: training@yusu.org
I am responsible for the YUSU training team. The team consists of volunteer student trainers who have all been trained to train as part of the nationwide program, NSLP. You will get the chance to join the team later in the year. Our training aims to be both interactive and informative, allowing people to learn valuable and beneficial skills in an enjoyable experience. We run all non-staff training within YUSU, along with training for Junior Common Room Committees and Societies. For further details don’t hesitate to get in touch.
