College JCRCs

Each college in York university has its own JCRC, which is a committee of elected members of that college. Their job is to oversee the various issues local to their college in much the same way as the SU does for the whole student body. These are the JCRC chairpersons of the seven undergraduate colleges at York.

Alcuin Chair  -  Erik O'Connor

E-mail: alcuin@yusu.org
The most enjoyable feature of Alcuin is the luxury we live and play in. Not only do all our rooms have ensuite facilities but we also have a brand spanking new JCR with projector screen and bar games to while away the hours.

Derwent Chair  -  Oliver Lester

E-mail: derwent@yusu.org
We’re the best all rounder. With Club D, bar quiz and karaoke, college spirit and our sports team that are always aiming for the top. Oh yeah our bar damn cool too.

Goodricke Chair  -  Joe Clarke

E-mail: goodricke@yusu.org
The great college spirit, amazing events, college bar and college sports cup winning teams! Be part of Goodricke, be proud and be the best!

Halifax President  -  David Sharp

E-mail: halifax@yusu.org
The ‘best bit’ about Halifax has to be our students - more Halifaxers get involved in college life than any other college, and they’re the people who make our events fun.

James Chair  -  Chet Khatu

E-mail: james@yusu.org
Best accommodation on campus, the coolest students and college spirit in abundance, everyone wishes they were in James.

Langwith Chair  -  Zach Pepper

E-mail: langwith@yusu.org
Langwith boasts the best spirit on campus and being one of the smaller
colleges helps us to maintain a sense of community. Holding onto many
traditions, including the annual Ron Awards and Football Presidents'
Evenings, every member can be proud to be a part of Langwith.

One of the oldest colleges on campus opened by the Queen in '65, steeped in history and traditions, Langwith College IS the University of York.

Vanbrugh Chair  -  Matt Oliver

E-mail: vanbrugh@yusu.org
Although the smallest college, we have the most bar events, the cheeriest welfare and the most enthusiastic sports reps, which helps make us the most socially oriented and friendly college.
