Thinking about running?
If you are a member of the Union and over 18 years of age then you
qualify to run in the elections.
Thinking about running? Want to know how to run a great campaign?
Then come along to our briefing for potential candidates on the 18th of February, 5.30pm in V120.
Paul England from NUS will give you all the tips and tricks you need to run a really good campaign. You can also ask any questions you have about running!
What after this? Follow These Simple Steps:
Check out all the positions available!
If you have any questions, email the current position holder or pop in to the Student Centre to have a chat.Think about what you want to stand for. Read the job descriptions and see what you fancy. Decide if you want to stand on your own or
with someone else!
Decide on some policies and big yourself up.
Think about what you want to change, what you want to make better, your experience and why YOU are the best person for the job.
Fill in a nomination form and get campaigning!
Pick up a nomination form and more information about being a candidate and campaigning from the Student Centre, from 12 noon, Thursday Week 6 (14th February). You need to hand it back in by 12 noon, Friday Week 7 (22nd February).
With your nomination form you’ll get another one of these leaflets. It
will help you to:
- Design publicity and get it printed.
- Plan your campaign – get out there and speak to people!
- Know what you can and can’t do and where to go for
- advice.
- Information on candidates meetings, rules and hustings!
Voting!
After that it’s upto the students to decide who they want for the job, it’s your job to show people that you are that person. Come for a drink with your competitors and campaigners and await your results at……..Gladiators Election Night!!!
