Halifax College
Halifax is the youngest and largest college on campus, we may not be centrally located but we are definitely central to University life.
The college is separated into courts each with its own small community. During the summer term you’ll see courts come to life with bbq’s and people just relaxing on the grass enjoying ‘Fax in the sun.
Halifax is known for being the sportiest college, we encourage everyone to get involved and come along to as many events as possible, having won the college sports cup the last two years running.
Halifax welfare team are committed to supporting students in any issue from housing to personal worries, there is a member of the college always available to help, and no concern is too small.
We pride ourselves as the only college to have a combined undergraduate and postgraduate student association dedicated to improving the college experience including events, welfare support and much, much more. We aspire to give students the most exciting and different events both on and off campus.
JJ’s the college hub and common room may not have a bar but has seen it’s fare share of wild nights, including Rubik's Cube and UV House Parties, regular pub quizzes and Casino Royale nights.
If you ever need anything for a spontaneous night out or just to stock up on supplies then our own in college Costcutters is right on your doorstep, along side 24 hour porters and laundrette.
The college may be 10 minutes from main campus but is centrally placed between both Heslington East and West.
