Dance Society

All our committee, teachers, classes, news and events information.

DramaSoc

As one of the most active societies on campus, Dramasoc gives students the opportunity to be involved in every aspect of amateur dramatics. We manage our own studio venue, the Drama Barn, in which we aim to put on a production every weekend. We give opportunites to experiment in theatre on Monday nights. We also support theatre in the community projects. Anyone with any interest in the theatre will find something to suit them in DramaSoc.

DougSoc

A society for everybody who likes to think, act and exist differently from others. People ask, 'What does DougSoc do?' and never ever receive the same response twice, since by answering that question we would defeat the purpose of the society. Mostly, we just aim to have fun in whatever way we can, be it via picnics, game show nights, water pistol fights or even battles between the forces of good and evil.

Duke of Edinburgh Society

The Duke of Society offers assistance in the completion of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. We will directly assist in completion of the expedition (two practice weekend/day expeditions in the North Yorks Moors in the summer term, followed by the assessed expedition; conducted in the Cheviots in the 1st week of the summer holidays, thus, the expedition will not interfere with University work)and advice in the completion of the alternive areas of the residential, volunteering, physical recreation and skill components of the award. N.B. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, i.e. the bronze and silver awards, are NOT REQUIRED to participate.
