Ballet Society

We provide ballet lessons with a fully qualified professional teacher and are open to all students and staff regardless of ability, all you need is lots of enthusiasm!

Band Society

Bandsoc gives musicians at the uni an environment to meet up and form bands, provides a practice space for members, and puts on gigs on and off campus, with the opportunity for campus bands to perform. We also offer loans of our equipment to members.

Biosciences Society

The Biosciences society is open to all people studying in or interested in biological sciences. Bellringers

We ring bells! We have two main sections, with some members belonging to both. The tower bell section rings church bells at various churches in and around the city, usually at St. Lawrence or St. Martin-le-Grand. The hand bell section rings tunes on hand bells. We also hold fairly regular social activities, the majority of which seem to involve the consumption of alcohol...

Bad Taste Magazine

Bad Taste is the University of York's campus magazine, which is distributed termly across campus in week four. Bad Taste is an ever evolving concept, with the principal aim being to provide an eclectic and enlightening insight into campus life. Breakz

Purveyors of some of the finest music events on campus and in York. Whether you're into drum and bass, hip-hop, breaks or just want something a little different, Breakz provides you with a night of pure musical indulgence. We endeavour to bring you the latest beats on the scene, spun by the hottest DJs we can find. Our socials and events give you the opportunity to meet like minded dance enthusiasts, bear witness to the finest residents York has to offer, and to be a part of York's ever growing underground dance music community.

Book Group Society

We are the society for people who enjoy reading and who want to expand their reading horizons. We have weekly meetings and discuss a wide variety of books. With biscuits!

Bright Futures Society

If you want to clinch that all important interview with a FTSE 100 company, getting a good degree is no longer enough. This is where Bright Futures Soc comes in, we provide networking opportunities with some of the key graduate employers. This is in addition to workshops to develop your transferable skills all with the view to making York students a desirable target for large companies both before after graduation.
