Around 8–10% of students have a disability, so chances are you know someone on your course, in your college, or in a society or club with a disability. You may not even be aware of it—there are plenty of students with unseen disabilities.

A big hello from your new disability officer Amy! I'd like to welcome all new students who have either arrived or will be doing so over weekend - I look forward to meeting some of you. Also welcome back to everyone and I hope you've all had an awesome summer (it's probably been more productive than mine).

Alternative formats
If you require any YUSU publicity in alternative formats, please come and speak to the staff in the Student Centre.
Events
Carers for disabled students are allowed in free to YUSU events. If you let us know in advance, there will be a wristband set aside for them at an event.
Elections
Voting for elections takes place online. We will ensure that everyone is able to have a say in the democratic running of YUSU, so let us know during elections time if we can make this easier.
