Course Reps
Welcome to the Course Rep pages of the YUSU website. Here you can find out everything you need to know about how you are represented within the University on issues of teaching and learning. Course Reps are elected students who:
- Are the people to go to if you have issues or concerns about your course
- Attend a number of committees within your department to take students' ideas and feedback to the right places
- Should seek the views of students on key aspects of the course - from teaching quality, to library resources and beyond.
- Receive training from the Students' Union that will enable them to fully understand the role and develop useful skills
- Work with other representatives across the University to ensure that the student voice is clear, consistent and effective
Course representation is a partnership between YUSU and the departments of the University of York. Together, we aim to ensure that students play an essential role in guaranteeing and driving the quality of the academic experience here. YUSU is predominantly responsible for the election and support of undergraduate course reps, but we work closely with the Graduate Students' Association to ensure academic representation for those on Taught and Research postgraduate programmes.
Use the links on the left to navigate around these pages, where you can find out who your rep is, what representation is all about, and how to become a Course Rep.
