Student Action Officer's Report, UGM Week 8

Posted by Tom Scott, 22/06/2009.

Transcribed from the Week 8 UGM:

We went to York Carnival and did all the stewarding for that and face-painted over 100 people which was amazing and we raised over £200 which we split equally RAG and York Carnival, which is really good too. We face-painted at Alcuin fate and James Quad Dash, we’ve also been having all of our college challenges. Derwent helped out at Read International’s book loading, Alcuin helped Tang Hall primary school with their allotment with the work that the kids were too small to do, Goodricke worked on their allotment, Vanbrugh cleaned the beach in Scarborough, Langwith worked at St. Nicholas Field, attacking things that shouldn’t be there, James worked in the garden and shed of the campus nursery and Halifax haven’t done their challenge yet but they will be making a mural for the campus nursery and also holding a kids’ party for kids in Halifax.

We have had our summer play, which happened yesterday at Derrymore Primary School and which was received really well and will be repeated on the Vanbrugh bowl on Wednesday Week 9, so you should all come. We have a First Aid course on Tuesday and our volunteering and charities event on Monday Week 9 which you should also all come to.
