RAG update!
What have we been doing these past few weeks in RAG?
We have nearly completed York’s Got Talent 2009! RAG has taken the colleges by storm, with the individual college heats of the amazing York’s Got Talent. They have been heaps of fun, with plenty of talent - be it impressive guitar skills, drama, or some lovely boy-band dance moves... Lots of people took part and we have raised £701.05 so far from York’s got talent alone! The York’s Got Talent final will be held at Woodstock, where one winner from each college has a chance to perform live on stage.
Last weekend we had a hitch to Amsterdam AND a trip to raid in Blackpool, both of which were a storming success! We hope everyone had a good time.
Coming up, we have our awards evening with Student Action on Monday week 9 at the Stonegate bar, which will be a fantastic chance to celebrate all things charity/volunteering. We are having a buffet (£6) at 7.30pm or simply come along for drinks and awards at 9pm.Contact ragents@yusu.org before Sunday if you would like to come for the buffet.
We also have Woodstock fast approaching (Saturday week 9) which is guaranteed to be a fantastic, fun-filled day for all, from noon till midnight. Don’t worry about a ticket, just turn up, with a suggested donation of £3.50, a smile and your dancing shoes!
Think midnight is too early? Of course you do! The party doesn’t end there: Come along to the Courtyard for the Woodstock after party, ‘Junk Shop’ from 10pm-2am, so you can keep your dancing shoes on for even longer! It promises to be a cool, retro-style night, in the spirit of the original 60’s-style Woodstock. Tickets are £3.50 from www.yusu.org/tickets from Your:shop or your college rag reps.
Let’s not forget with all these adventures and parties, all the profits go to RAG’s beneficiaries, which can be elected by all York students. Are you passionate about a cause? Working for a charity? YOU can nominate a charity to be voted for RAG’s beneficiaries of '09-10! Elections will take place at the start of the summer term.
