A Final Thank You & Goodbye
Hi all,
I thought I would just take this opportunity whilst I still have access to blog, to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for making the year what it has been.
To the York Sport Committee, you guys have been fantastic and have really helped me throughout the year - I have loved a lot of the time we have spent together and couldn't have done it without you. Ros, Sam, Matt, Izzy, Rory, Guesty, Copson, Lewis and Dane, you've been great!
To the Club Presidents and Committees, I know you guys may have been frustrated with some things I did at times, but thanks for the support and understanding you have shown me throughout the year - I have enjoyed working with you all and getting to know some of you on a personal level as well as a "professional" level. I've really enjoyed visiting some of you on your home turf for 'Scott in Sport' and only wish I had been better organised to get round more clubs.
To the College Sports Reps, thanks for your help with running College Sport this year - I'm sure Guesty and Copson would agree that their jobs would be so much harder without your help.
To the other five YUSU sabbs, who would have thought it? A whole year sharing the same, not very big, office and yet we're still friends at the end of it. I didn't really appreciate how much YUSU things we would all do together and thank you for being a great team to work with (most of the time anyway!). Tim and Ben, best of luck for the next YUSU year and Rhianna, Charlie and Lewis, good luck with the future.
To all the YUSU staff, you have all been amazing. You are unsung heroes and without your constant hard-work nothing would be able to happen. I am really glad to have worked with you throughout the year and will definitely be coming back to see you every time I come back to York.
To every single student who does some form of sport here at the University of York - a huge thank you. Without you guys, I would not have spent a year in office and I hope that you know to be in touch with York Sport if there is anything sporting related you wish to bring up.
There are undoubtedly more people I should mention, but to those who might not be here by name, but who I have worked with throughout the year, thank you for your time and the work you have done that will benefit sport at York.
Overall, I have enjoyed the year and after four years in York I am certainly going to miss the place. I hope to come back at some point next year, perhaps to see York reclaiming the Carter-James in Roses, and look forward to catching up and hearing how things are going.
Finally, I would like to wish Sam Asfahani and the new York Sport Committee the best of luck for next year.
It's been emotional. So long, farewell and wishing you all the best for the future, whatever it may hold.
