D day is looming, we're all getting fatter...
In the midst of the Christmas festivities, I occasionally forget about our project in Langwith, busy hammering away, whilst enjoying lots of Christmas dinners, mince pies and birthday cake. And then my phone rings, with another question to answer or problem to solve!
There's only 2 full working days left, with handover of the space this FRIDAY 19th DECEMBER!!
Since the last update, so much has changed...
- All the flooring is now in: The carpet was fitted yesterday, all the wooden flooring is down, the cellar has had its' concrete laid, the kitchen floor is sorted, the entrance ways have their matting
- The electric was turned on and we're cooking on our own steam now; the space comes alive on an evening with colour, and during the day the designers skills are apparent with the mix of colours used.
- The Bar is pretty much complete now; stained, with it's shutter, back bar fitted, etc. The tills are going in tomorrow, the beer pumps start to be fitted from tomorrow, the fridges etc also arrive tomorrow.
- The ice machine has arrived for the cellar, and the cooling system has gone in. Next, the beer pumps will be installed - FUN TIMES!
- The kitchen has been fitted out - it's HUGE now, with so much equipment, we'll easily rival the output of Wetherspoons Postern gate, I'm sure :)
- The wallpaper is up, the painting is just about done
- The DJ booth is almost complete
- The lighting rig went up yesterday, with some final works today. Then the speakers are being installed throughout today.
- The furniture arrives tomorrow and everything will fall into place
- The outside area is coming along - the decking is almost down, electrics are in and the new gravel should be being dumped any time now..
- The fence, or 'fencegate' as we're now referring to it, is under review, as it's not as pretty as one might have hoped. We've met with the local departments to discuss other options and styles so that we can make sure all of the investment in the space really benefits the area as a whole.
And to wrap up - some final interviews today, but we've already hired two members of staff, with the final senior management team member today, and then we'll announce the lucky staff names.
