Academic Officers Top Tips for Finishing the Year on a high!
The end of term is looming so I thought I'd put some tips on here for wrapping you year up and making sure you have a worry free summer break:
1. Make sure you’ve done your online plagiarism/ academic integrity tutorial or you will not be able to progress into the next year of your studies. You can log on to complete it <a href=http://vle.york.ac.uk/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp> here This is compulsory and for your own good so do it today and get it done. If in doubt, contact your departmental administrator. Make sure you either print off your certificate or get a screen shot saved in case you need to prove that you’ve done the tutorial at any stage. If you would like more information about writing with integrity contact cmfb@york.ac.uk who can advise of writing workshops and Turnitin software to help you.
2. Return all your library books and pay any fines. Returners you don't want to be faced with an enormous fine when you get back in October and those of you who are graduating don't want overdue books to stop you from ending the year with your friends.
3. Make sure that you leave your accommodation in good order. By this I don't just mean clear all your stuff out but make sure you notify all the utility companies you are leaving, get final statements from them all and take meter readings where necessary.
I hope these steps are useful, and that you are all looking forward to our end of year Summer Ball. See you there!
