Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Posted by Services and Finance Officer, 07/12/2008.

End of week 8, two weeks to go until all the building work is completed.. so whats new..

Drinks 'shelves' and other ledges around the bar are going in.

All of the ceilings are plastered, walls are now being plastered.

The proper wooden floor is being installed - exciting!

The cellar is feeling very insulated and dark.. with a new drain in the floor. Yes, that's exciting!

A big under floor tunnel has been built from the cellar to the bar for the beer lines.

The big extraction system for the kitchen has been installed - it's starting to take shape.

The bar is shortly to be built, but it is all marked out on the floor where it is to be built.

The ceilings have been painted where the plaster has dried - so it's looking cleaner now!

OUTSIDE:

The holes have been dug for the 17 posts that the decking are installed to. If I stand in one, it comes up to my knee. I didn't stand in it on purpose...

One of the trees has been 'short, back and side'-ed. Sounds like its gone to the hairdressers.

The fence was being built on Saturday, I'm going to have a nosey today.

All of the fittings for the lights in the ceiling are pretty much in, covered over.

Over the next week, more fixtures and fittings will go in, and then get covered over with plastic bags to protect until the opening.

The decking will go in, and the new gravel, lighting and heating for the outside area, the jumberellas and the heaters.

The bar will be built! The kitchen fitted out, and the cellar installations will start soon.

The shutter for the new bar will go in, and some door ways are going to be replaced, along with new emergency exits being installed.

We might even see some wall papering, if we're lucky.

The programme is nearing the end, though the planner shows lots of black blobs of things to do for the next two weeks..

Fun fun fun. Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow.
