York Sport Colours & Awards
Each year towards the end of the summer term a buzz of anticipation hits campus as people wonder who will scoop the prizes at the annual York Sport Dinner. This year should be no different with the most prestigious sporting awards at the University of York being presented to their worthy winners on Friday 25th June (week 9).
This is a night not to be missed! As well as all the prizes, there will be a drinks reception, 3 course dinner, wine on tables, ceilidh dancing and a disco - all this for £30. Tickets are available at....

Colours will be presented to final year students who have shown commitment, dedication and performance in their chosen sports. To nominate yourself for colours, please fill in the following form by Wednesday week 6 (2nd June)...

Please be as detailed as possible when filling this in - let us know your achievements. Club Presidents will be contacted for feedback before final decisions are made.
This year we are also taking open nominations for key awards of the night - Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Roses Team of the Year, Most Improved Team of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year and Service to Sport. Please be aware that this form is not a voting mechanism and having duplicate nominations will not increase chances of winning. The intention of this form is to ensure that worthy contenders do not miss out on the potential to win prizes simply because they were not know to the Colours Committee. All achievements will be verified for accuracy. The ultimate decision to short-list contenders and choose the overall winner will lie with the Colours Committee.
All nominations must be received by WEDNESDAY 2ND JUNE (WEEK 6). Nominations received after this date will not be considered.
There will also be awards presented for College Sport: the Justin Taylor Memorial Award for contribution to College Sport from a first year student, and some new awards this year - College Team of the Year, College Sportsman of the Year and College Sportswoman of the Year. College Colours will also be awarded to final year students who have displayed exceptional commitment to College Sport. The College Sport Committee will have the final decision on these awards, but if you think of anyone you believe to be exceptionally deserving of any of these, please email collegesport@yusu.org with details of why you believe they should be awarded before Monday week 6 (31st May). The winner of the Inter-College Sport Championship will also be announced!
