Officer Report
Since the last Union General Meeting, I've:
Continued work on the Student Venue project, as detailed in other blog updates. This has included MANY daily meetings with various suppliers, University, estates dept etc to coordinate many elements of the construction which is due for completion in TWO WEEKS.
Lead and co-ordinated, which has resulted in the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for the Students' Union.
Continued to give up evenings to support the new Student Venue telethon project, which has raised much needed money to gain enhancements to the venue.
Supported the running of a successful Viking Raid event, raising funds for the Union.
Met the Union accountants to prepare the accounts for 2007-2008, which will be presented to the Trustee Board on Weds week 9, and to University Finance Committee on Fri week9.
Contributed to the YUSU Annual Report 2007-8.
Met YUSU Alumni to gain support for the Student Venue project.
Sat on the Roger Kirk Centre working group, securing the use of the RKC for termly events.
Chaired Rules and Revisions Committee and delegated the task of tidying up the constitution to Thomas D. Langrish (thanks!).
Shortlisted for the new Bars Ops Manager, Assistant Manager, Head Chef and Commis Chef in the new Student Venue.
Sat on the Student Centre Working Group, planning for the months ahead and the tasks we must undertake to work towards a deadline of build and commission by October 2011. More on this to follow in future updates.
Went to the Dentist and had my hair cut.
Enjoyed numerous Sunday lunches. Yum yum.
