Officer Report
Since the last UGM, we have:
- Started to draft the new By-laws for Union Council, making sure that it will run as an effective decision making body
- Continued to serve as interim Chairs of Union Council
- Been delegated to coordinate the constitutional review/tidy up to be submitted to Union Council next term
- Discussed ways of reforming YUSU Campaigns Committee & the role of Campaigns Officer (as it will be known after the next elections) to ensure proper coordination of student campaigns
- Worked with Alcuin JCRC to save B Henry's
- Assisted the Women's Officers with their campaign to end male violence against women
- Set a date for a Higher Education funding debate to take place next term and started drawing up a provisional speaker list
- Responded to a request from Leeds SU on how YUSU dealt with First Travel price increases in York
- Planned to re-launch the Chlamydia testing campaign, in cooperation with the Academic & Welfare officer
