Presidents Report
Hello, just a brief summary of whats been going on since the last UGM. The majority of my time has been spent on drafting the strategic plan and the communication strategy.
Strategic Plan
We held a second consultation within the union to collate the findings of the survey and our focus group and grouped specific issues into 7 core areas. We then then applied a time frame and have submitted the draft to the Trustee board for approval on the 10th of March. Once approved, the draft will be submitted for student consultation once more.
Communication Strategy
On a similar note, I chaired the first communications committee meeting, from which we had several substantive items to carry forward to the next meeting in week 10. One of the key actions from this meeting mandated me to look into the process of carrying out an assessment into how the union communicates and following that preparing a strategy alongside the committee. Over Easter I will be preparing a proposal for the assessment and strategy and putting it forward for the first meeting of next term in week 2.
