What I have done since the last UGM…
Dixon Studio
This is a professional dramatics production studio in Wentworth which is currently under the ownership and control of the TFTV departement but extremely underused. I have written a proposal with Comedy Soc and Drama Soc formally asking for societies to gain use of the Dixon Studio for performances starting next term. This has now been followed up with meetings and conversations with Jane Grenville and Sue Johnston and I hope and expect to see a result in the next couple of weeks.
'We Are Golden' Employability Week
Fantastic week, really effective in encouraging students to think about their employability and the support they deserve from the University. We collected over 1000 signatures on the petition to the university to invest in our students' employability and ran Employability Forums in every JCRC meeting to establish how students feel about current support and what they want to see change.
RAG Week and Viking Raid
Organised Viking Raid and supported RAG through RAG Week, including being kidnapped.
What I will be doing in the next few weeks…
Space Strategy
I am currently writing a society space survey to go out next week for two weeks. This will be on the agenda for all society forums next week as well. Although I know a great deal about what specific societies need, I would like to get some solid research done in preparation for the University's Space Strategy Group meetings.
Society Forums NEXT WEEK
These are going to be broken down into categories again, agenda will consist of society involvement at Woodstock, space strategy, employability, training, YUSU Awards and possibility of a society committee. Extremely time consuming but worthwhile.
YUSU Awards
Awards to be finalised and publicised before the end of term.
