RAG WEEK 2010 is finally here!

Week 5 of each Spring Term is one of the biggest and most exciting time of the year for all York Uni students!

From Sunday 7 February through to Saturday 13th, there is a week of stunning events, from the chilled out 'Blagathon' to the glamorous 'RAG goes to Hollywood', there really is something for everyone.

SUNDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

World's Largest Toga Party! 10:30pm-late at Tru Nightclub 2.50 pounds in advance/3.00 pounds on the door http://www.yusu.org/event/2521 Don your white toga, get ready to chant, and head down to Tru nightclub to be a part of the first ever York University Guinness World Record attempt! With Cheaper entry and amazing drinks deals, what reason do you have to not Toga, Toga, Toga the night away!!!

MONDAY 8TH FEBRUARY

Blagathon 6:30pm til 10:00pm at Derwent Bar FREE ENTRY A great one for sabbs, societies, society presidents, and sabbs-to-be to get involved! This is your chance to win some AMAZING prizes (you could be a prize?!); RAG has managed to blag everything from meals in town, entry to events, exclusive concert tickets and soo much more. If that isn’t enough, there will also be a fête, raffle, and a silent auction. Bring your flatmates down to this free event… you never know what you will bring back!

TUESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY

Daytime: Busking at market square!! RAG NEEDS YOU!! 11am-3pm Market Square Especially if you play an acoustic instrument and/or sing, and would like some easy campus publicity and performance time... Save the world. And win a superexciting MYSTERY PRIZE if you collect the most money.

Nightime: YUSU RAG Viking Raid http://www.yusu.org/event/2497 An old favourite, one ticket gets you the t-shirt, drinks deals, and, free entry into Tru or Gallery at the end of the night! WEDNESDAY 10TH FEBRUARY

RAG Slag and Drag Yates Tickets £3.00 in advance/£4.00 on the door http://www.yusu.org/event/2522 For one night only, the biggest sports warm-up of the term, all in the name of charity. This slags and drags-themed night of mayhem will be the talk of the university for weeks to come. Bar FTSE will ensure many cheap drinks throughout the night, there will be something for everybody.

THURSDAY 11TH FEBRUARY

Mr and Mrs York 7:30pm til 10:30pm The Courtyard FREE ENTRY Who are the hottest students at York University? RAG aims to find out! Come down to the courtyard, and check out the hopefuls as they give a performance of their ‘talent’ and see how well they fair in our surprise rounds. Remember to bring your change, to vote for your Mr or Mrs York!

FRIDAY 12TH FEBRUARY

College pre-parade warm ups – keep posted for what your college reps have in store for you, this will be your college’s chance to get ready for the day ahead.

SATURDAY 13TH FEBRUARY

Daytime: RAG Parade York City Centre 12noon onwards York hits the movies for one of the biggest fundraiser events for RAG!! And this year, we aim to raise more than ever before. We need YOU to don your fancy dress and take to the streets of York. So come along show your college spirit and your support for our core charities. This is an incredible experience, one that cannot be missed!

Nightime: RAG bash - RAG goes to Hollywood! 9pm – late The Courtyard http://www.yusu.org/event/2523 Come down to the Courtyard for a glitzy movie-themed night of fun! With great drinks deals and many different themed areas in the bar, you may even mistake it doe Hollywood. But be sure to get your tickets early, they’re hotter than an Oscar award!
