Wom Com Blog for UGM week 4
This term is our Equal Pay Campaign for which we have lots of exciting plans for posters and events - watch this space for more details. One of the proposed plans is a Myth Busting Forum to explain what the pay gap is and why it has occured from a variety of view points including a historical, an economic and a political perpsective. We will also be having a cross liberation Careers Evening with speakers and a chance to talk to good equal opportunities employers as well as other organisations which campaign and promote equal opportunites within the workplace.
We are also in the midst of planning, with LGBT, a Human Library. The purpose of which is to deminish the power of stereotypes … Students will be able to borrow a ‘stereotype’ for a chat, during which, we hope, students will gain a greater understanding of someone they may have misunderstood.
We had our termly clothes swap on Monday (Our first year anniversary) it was really successful and fun! If you missed this term's don't worry - look out for the event again next term!
We had our first spring term social, on Monday Week 3, which was a great way for us to get to know our committee, especially the new members who have now been co-opted on!
