YUSU Volunteering Update

Elections - there are still spaces on our committee for 1 ordinary member and a pair of projects away coordinators. These positions will be just for the rest of this term. If you are interested in getting involved, pick up a nomination form from the YUSU reception and hand it in by Wednesday! Looking ahead, our whole committee (except for college reps) will be elected at the end of this term - if you want more information on what being on the committee entails, feel free to ask! More information will come out about elections in week 8/9. Also, YUSU elections will be kicking off later in the term, so if anyone fancies my job (its brilliant, honest) then please send me an email to chat about it - i'd love for lots of enthusiastic volunteers to run for it!

YUSU Fair - missed out signing up to stuff in the rush of 1st term? NO PROBLEMS! We'll be at YUSU Fair 2 on Saturday (30th January) so come along and see us to get involved. One Off Project - also on Saturday 30th Jan, we will be helping the retreat (on heslington road) organise their stock in their charity shop. We will be there from 10am - 2pm, feel free to drop in to help out if you've got some time on your hands. Turning up will earn you a point towards the college cup! Help Needed - Also on Saturday 30th, York Cemetary are building a gaint Charcoal stack for a reconstructive archaeology project. They need lots of helpers - and the BBC are going to be filming so if you fancy 5 minutes of fame this is definitely for you! For more information contact ajw511@york.ac.uk

Volunteering Fair - If you are looking for a summer volunteering placement but can't find one, DON'T PANIC - on Tuesday week 8 we will be holding a volunteering fair, with lots of gap year companies and summer placement organisers in attendence - save the date and look out for more details nearer the time!
