The University of York has won Roses 2008! After dominating the first two days of the competition, it took a last gasp equaliser in the Men's First XI hockey to clinch the victory for York-the first time since 2002 that an away team has won. Everyone who was involved and who made the trip down to Lancaster was fantastic, and all of the teams involved deserve congratulations. Well done!
Varsity occurred on Wednesday of Week 6, and was won convincingly by York University. Well done to everybody involved!
The Charity Dodgeball Tournament took place on Saturday of Week 6, and was a great success, raising over £100 for charity. Congratulations to its winners, Menergy!
The Snooker Club has continued its fantastic year. Both the 2nd and 3rd teams reached the semi-finals of the annual BUSA snooker championships, showing the fantastic strength in depth of the club. The 1st team were unfortunate to go out in an incredibly tough second group stage. Meanwhile, in the individuals, Andrew Whyatt reached the semi-finals, and George Hogg also played well. In the seniors, Robin Thomas reached the quarter finals and Mike Walsh was unfortunate to lose in the last 16. To top it off, Mike is representing England in the BUSA home nations.
